Ston Easton Park
Great things are happening at Ston Easton Park, one of Somerset’s foremost luxury country house hotels.
There’s a new chef, who is not only aiming for his first Michelin star, he’s leading the hotel’s drive for food self-sufficiency,
Set in 36 acres of parkland, the magnificent building dates mainly from the 18th century although its origins are Tudor.
Its exquisite rooms include one of England’s earliest surviving Print Rooms, a superb Saloon, beautifully preserved servants’ quarters and an Edwardian kitchen. Combined with high-class service, they provide the luxury and comfort that draw guests, including many A-list celebrities and prominent figures, from all walks of life.
Food lovers, both hotel guests and non-residents, are also flocking to the Sorrel Restaurant, where chef Ashley Lewis has introduced a home-grown tasting menu to showcase the fresh garden produce for which Ston Easton is renowned.
It already grows 60% of its food and the aim is to reach 95%. Working closely with many of Somerset artisan producers, Ashley, who has worked in kitchens across the UK and France, and his team aim to ensure that their food is, and tastes, as fresh as possible.
Ston Easton is not only first venue choice for many happy couples, its first-class facilities, combined with the flexibility and expertise to stage any event to specific requirements, make it ideal for summit meetings, conferences, meetings, product launches and team-building days.
